Finance Minister AMA Muhit yesterday agreed to allow undisclosed money into the mainstream financial system considering its huge contribution to country’s economy.
“I’ll consider it in the next budget although I’m not in favour of legalising the undisclosed money morally or theoretically,” he told newsmen after a meeting with the delegation of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) at his office.
Muhit said the DCCI leaders have proposed legalising the untaxed money now remaining idle, arguing that the huge amount of money, if invested, would contribute a lot to the economy. [Read more]
