Tension rises as Hazari returns to Feni

Former Awami League leader Joynal Hazari returned to his hometown Feni on Friday and soon his musclemen reoccupied the land where once stood the Vendu Hazari Gymnasium, the den from where he reined as godfather.
The boundary walls of the land the administration had returned to the legal owners in mid 2001 were pulled down late Friday night.
Romana Ahmed, one of the land owners, said the administration was duly informed about the forcible action of Hazari’s musclemen.
Supporters of Hazari said they would compel to rebuild the Gymnasium by those who had demolished it in the absence of their leader. [Read more]
