Foreign Adviser Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury Thursday said UN secretary-general Ban Ki-Moon’s upcoming visit, beginning Saturday, would be in recognition of the achievements gained by the people of Bangladesh that drew world attention.
“UN Secretary General’s visit has political relevance. Whichever country he visits gets recognition. We hope his visit to Bangladesh will also be a recognition of our achievements,” he told reporters after a meeting with UNCTAD secretary general Supchai Panitpakdi at the Foreign Ministry. [Read more]
