Nearly one hundred people, including two cops, were injured in three separate violent police-worker cashes yesterday in Gazipur and Savar area.
At least 40 people were injured in two clashes Gazipur , where police had to fire a hail of teargas shells and bullets to get to grips with the situation, witnesses said.
Police said the workers of Standard Garments observed work abstention and demonstrated in front of their factory at yesterday noon against the retrenchment of their colleagues. Eighteen workers of the factory were sacked Friday. [Read more]
