Angry garment workers ended their demonstration in the city’s Shewrapara yesterday following an agreement with the management of their factory at a meeting yesterday.
The meeting was held at the office of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) at Karwanbazar in the city.
With BGMEA president Anwar-ul-Alam Chowdhury (Parvez) in the chair, the meeting was attended by chairman of SQ Sweaters Ltd, representatives of the workers, senior officials of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Dhaka Metropolitan Police and officials of the joint forces. [Read more]
