Welcome new-year 2008. Revellers around the world welcomed the new-year last night amid fanfare.
Unlike other countries, in Bangladesh the new-year was welcomed, mostly indoors, in a mood of subdued gaiety.
This year will be vital for Bangladesh as it is supposed to be an election year. Many events marked the outgoing year 2007 and the country witnessed many dramatic changes in various arenas especially in politics.
According to Election Roadmap of the Election Commission (EC) present Caretaker Government (CG) will hold a free and fair election at the end of 2008.
