Adviser for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Barrister Mainul Hosein yesterday said the present caretaker government is committed to hold the next general elections by the year 2008 at any cost.
“The government is pledged to hold the election by 2008 and it will be held in time. No matter the state of emergency would be in place or not,” he said while briefing journalists at the conference room of the Ministry of Information.
Terming the year 2008 as the year of election, he said the state of emergency would not be a hindrance for holding the election. [Read more]
