Announcing a fresh US 213 million dollars post-cyclone assistance to Bangladesh, British International Development Minister Douglas Alexander yesterday said his country supports the Caretaker Government roadmap for holding the general election within December 2008 and restoration of full democracy as early as possible.
He said this while addressing a pre-departure press conference in Dhaka yesterday afternoon.
Earlier, at a working lunch with Foreign Adviser Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury at the Foreign Ministry, Douglas Alexander said British support to Bangladesh would increase. [Read more]
