Relief flow takes a leap: People selling donated rice to repay NGO loans

Ignoring the request of the government, country’s leading micro-finance NGOs like BRAC, Grameen Bank and ASA have been forcing the distressed people in cyclone-affected districts to repay their loan installments.
Finding no other alternatives, many distressed people are now repaying their loan installments even by selling rice, lentil and cooking oil which they have received as relief either from the government or from the international and local relief agencies. [Read more]
