Twenty-six more bodies were recovered in the district on Friday, raising the official death toll to 762 while unofficial figure to 1,650 in the worst cyclone-hit district.
Local people said thousands of people are still missing in the district while around 3,000 in Sharankhola alone, the southern upazila on the bank of river Baleswar.
Besides, many government, non-government and private organisations, including Army, Navy, Coastguards, police, Airforce, district administration and Red Crescent Society, are continuing relief operation in the affected areas. [Read more]
