Bangladesh Bank has set a massive credit disbursement plan of Tk 7,700 crore to recover the agriculture sector from the shock of ongoing flood. The money will be disbursed by the commercial and specialized banks among flood-affected farmers as soon as waters recede.
Moreover, the central bank has directed the banks to suspend operation of the outstanding agricultural loans in flood-affected areas and issue fresh loan to the farmers to recover their damage. [Read more]
