Apart from the northern region, the devastation of flood is now spreading to the country’s central region as more areas were inundated yesterday, leaving thousands of people marooned.
The overall flood situation in the country’s 32 districts is taking serious turn as the waters of 14 rivers were flowing above their respective danger level yesterday evening.
More low-lying areas in the eastern part of Dhaka city are likely to be inundated as small rivers surrounding Dhaka and Narayanganj continued to rise and the Lakhya at Narayanganj, the Tongi Khal at Tongi were flowing above their danger levels by 6cm and 4cm respectively. [Read more]
