Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed assures media there will be no discrimination
Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed yesterday said his caretaker government believes in full freedom of the press and so, despite a state of emergency in the country, it is enjoying freedom.
He sought cooperation of the media in government effort towards holding a “free, fair and credible election”. He noted that the media are linking the caretaker government and people, now that there is no parliament.
The chief adviser made the remarks when members of the Newspaper Owners Association of Bangladesh (NOAB) and a few editors of national dailies and private TV channels led by NOAB President Mahbubul Alam called on him at his office. [Read more]
